Their service constituted a valiant response to serve their country. Please join in our effort to preserve the legacy of our veteran nurses and physicians.Project DescriptionThe project is an effort to collect written and oral accounts of the experiences of nurses and physicians who served in any war. We are also interested in journals, pictures, and letters related to the war experiences of the veteran nurse. The objective is to create an archive in the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University that will allow future generations access to the experiences of veteran nurses and physicians. The project team is led by Dr. Patricia Rushton, College of Nursing, Brigham Young University. Why is the project important?Although some efforts to secure the experiences of veteran nurses and physicians have been undertaken, much remains to be done. The time has come to preserve more of this important part of our history. How can you help?If you are a veteran nurse or physicians of any war and would be willing to contribute an account of your experiences during the war, we want to hear from you. If you are not a veteran nurse or physicians but know someone who is-perhaps a family member or friend-we need your help, too. You can encourage the nurse or physicians to contribute her or his experience or provide us with an address so we can encourage their participation. Please visit our Participate page and learn how you can help. |
