Development News Healers Art Scholarship Ways to Contribute

By Mary Lynne Clark

In a world where the one is often swallowed up by the many, the most significant differences continue to be made by caring individuals. Since 1952, the Brigham Young University College of Nursing has made a significant difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities throughout the state, the region and across the country. Through the caring hands of students, countless lives have been touched, even saved—sending circles of comfort and healing outward like ripples.

Through the LDS Foundation, the College of Nursing has a newly created development/public relations office. We will now begin the process of educating the alumni, donors and friends of the College about financial goals to keep the program on the cutting edge for nursing education. We look forward also to keeping you informed about the college through an annual College of Nursing magazine to be mailed in the spring of each year.

The new century has already seen many challenges in the area of quality health care.

Improving the quality of health care and education with limited funding is a difficult task. Financial resources are ultimately important to the future of the College of Nursing in maintaining and expanding our role in improving access to quality health care in Utah, across the nation, and globally. To meet these challenges, providing scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students has become as important as providing the academic programs.

Please be generous, the opportunities for giving to the College are extensive. Creating an endowment-where a contribution is held intact, providing a permanent source of income-can give essential support. Gifts of cash, wills, stocks, life insurance policies, trusts, and appreciated property are all powerful ways of giving.

We look forward to a continuing relationship as we seek ways to improve nursing education, which in turn will benefit us all!
