Biography
Carly Au Peterson was born and raised in Belmont, California, a suburb of San Francisco. She is a graduate of BYU in 1999 with a Bachelors in Nursing. After receiving her nursing license, she worked as a med/surg nurse and did laser hair and tattoo removal. But most of her days as a nurse have been in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU), which is her ultimate love and passion, with over 20 years of experience. While working in the NICU at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah, she enjoyed her time as a charge nurse and a shared leader. Carly and her husband, who is also a NICU nurse, graduated together from the University of South Alabama as Neonatal Nurse Practitioners in December 2021. Carly returned to BYU in 2020 as a Pediatric lab RN, followed by adjunct faculty, until she became as Assistant Professor in July 2022. Carly continues to work PRN in the NICU at Utah Valley Hospital. She is the mother of 3 plus an extra :) (she raised her cousin starting when he was 11). She loves bright colors, talking about Jesus, working in the yard, doing jazzercise, and binge-watching movies or TV shows with her husband.
