Biography

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from the College of Nursing at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree. I began working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Primary Children's Hospital and fell in love with pediatric nursing. I worked at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia while earning a Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, specifically a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner program. As a nationally credentialed Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, I began working for the University of Maryland Hospital for Children in 2004 and returned to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2008. After 13 years as clinical adjunct faculty, I became an Assistant Professor at BYU for the College of Nursing in 2022.
