Biography

Denise Cummins, DNP, RN, WHNP-BC, is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Brigham Young University (BYU) College of Nursing. Before joining BYU, she worked as the Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance in a rural health district in California. Her clinical specialties are high- and low-risk maternal/ newborn care, and healthcare quality. She has served in clinical, research, leadership and teaching positions in a variety of healthcare and academic settings. She holds associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in nursing, and a post-graduate certificate in maternity care.

Nursing care of childbearing women and newborns; quality and regulatory compliance; public and global health nursing education.
