Biography
My name is Dr. Macintosh. My nursing background is in the newborn ICU. I worked straight nights for 10 years prior to completing a Ph.D. from the University of Utah and then going into teaching. I have taught at Brigham Young University since 2011. My favorite part of working as a nurse was quality time with the infants in my care and helping parents become familiar with and comfortable caring for their children. I have found many similarities in working with parents and teaching both undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Both are anxious to learn and apply their new information. I love working with students. I have a firm open-door policy and would love to get to know you and help you be successful in this course. When I’m not working on classes or curriculum, I love to garden and play with her fur babies. I have 2 pugs (Miss Moneypenny and Rosie) and a cat, who was born blind, named Oliver Kitty. I also have an amazing hubby, who is also a Ph.D. prepared RN, and 2 children, both grown and married. Her son and his wife live in the Salt Lake City area, and her daughter and her husband live in Seattle.
