Biography
Professor Karli Bell graduated with her BSN from BYU almost 20 years ago and obtained her MSN from Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho. Professor Bell has worked in several different types of nursing, but generally considers herself an adult medical/surgical nurse and is proud of it! She currently works on the Progressive Care Unit at St. Marks Hospital and participates in the Unit Based Council and Hospital Nursing Practice Council as Chairs of both committees. Professor Bell is certified with the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses (AMSN) and serves on the the AMSN item writing committee writing questions for the certification exam. Besides hospital nursing in med/surg, Professor Bell has worked for the St. Luke's healthcare system as a hospital educator and has taught in other BSN programs in the state of Utah. Professor Bell loves pharmacology and one of her favorite nursing jobs was working as a clinical research nurse before and through the COVID-19 pandemic offering phase 3 and 4 study medication as a care option during this unprecedented time. Professor Bell is also experienced with and certified in healthcare simulation (CHSE). Professor Bell enjoys teaching with active learning strategies including gaming, case studies, and manipulatives in nursing education.
