Biography
Marie Prothero, PhD, RN, FACHE, is an experienced health care leader with over 30 years experience working in hospital and nursing executive roles. She has focused on developing high-functioning teams related to patient safety, performance improvement and hospital operations. Marie has been driven in all of her past positions to develop a culture of excellence, transparency and patient satisfaction. Marie is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Publication Committee for the American Organization of Nurse Leaders. Marie has a PhD in nursing from the College of Nursing, University of Utah. Her research area of focus is on nurses’ experience following a medical error that has caused harm to a patient. She is also a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Utah and a Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar. When Marie is not working, she loves to travel with her husband and spend time with her two children and six grandchildren.
