Biography
Michael has spent the majority of his nursing career working in psychiatric and mental health nursing, which is an area he loves. He became a psychiatric nurse practitioner in 2009 and maintains a part-time practice. He is the President-Elect of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Utah Chapter board. Michael became a certified Master Trainer in TeamSTEPPS in May of 2015 and is working to incorporate TeamSTEPPS throughout the nursing curriculum at BYU. In addition to his interest in patient safety and team communication, Michael is passionate about promoting self-care for healthcare professionals.
