In his 2021 University Conference address, then Academic Vice President Shane Reese stated that "We have need of gospel methodologies to address the pressing issues of our day." He further quoted Elder David A. Bednar saying "At BYU we can truly focus on the spiritual and practical substance of solutions and not just on superficial symbolism. We should be unique in striking at the root of important and timely issues and not be merely one of the thousands hacking at the branches." https://speeches.byu.edu/talks/c-shane-reese/on-the-uniqueness-of-byu/ Examples could be how you are seeking to solve the root causes of the problem rather than hacking at the leaves, or how your approach may be gospel-based rather than according to ”lexicons of traditional institutions of higher education,” or ways in which you might help students understand the eternal truths and laws that apply to the research or EBP project. Please discuss how your approach to your research, project, or conference attendance will be based on gospel methodology. (250 words or less)
